Georgian-Style Home Transformed with Sliding Sash Windows

Set within the beautiful countryside of South Lincolnshire, this traditional Georgian-style family home was in need of a full glazing replacement. The main objective was to replace the existing timber sliding sash windows, which had become difficult to operate and increasingly costly to maintain, with an energy-efficient and low-maintenance solution that met local conservation requirements.

Maintaining the traditional appearance of the original windows was key, so our design team specified sliding sash windows from Quickslide. Finished in white woodgrain, the new windows feature run-through sash horns, mechanical joints and astragal bars to closely match the original design.

As part of the wider renovation, we also installed additional windows to the rear and a new thermally efficient composite door, creating a consistent, high-performing finish across the property.

The result is a home that is both practical and true to its original character. The homeowners have especially enjoyed the seamless operation of their new windows, noting that the tilt-in feature has simplified their maintenance routine. The transformation has also received positive feedback from neighbours, who commented on how closely the new windows replicate traditional timber.
